Objective:
The LPN Foot Care Nurse is responsible for providing specialized foot care services to clients in Leduc, Spruce grove and surroundings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role includes assessments, treatments, education, and coordination of care while upholding the values of 2544721 Alberta Inc. (d.b.a. an independently owned and operated Home Instead franchise).
Primary Responsibilities:

Provide professional nursing foot care, including assessments, treatment of common foot conditions, and preventive care.

Maintain ongoing communication and a consistent follow-up schedule with clients and families to monitor foot health and address concerns.

Work with other team members to coordinate various aspects of a client’s care, ensuring a holistic approach.

Conduct initial and ongoing foot care assessments, documenting findings and updating care plans as needed.

Educate clients and their families on proper foot care, footwear choices, and prevention of complications.

Recognize and pursue opportunities to modify service plans to best support the ongoing needs of clients.

Demonstrate open and effective communication with clients, family members, colleagues, and referral providers.

Maintain detailed records of all foot care services provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Maintain infection control and safety procedures, including sterilization of instruments and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
Secondary Responsibilities:

Participate in staff and CAREGiver meetings as needed.

Support client outreach and education initiatives related to foot health.

Perform other related duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements

Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in good standing.

Advanced Foot Care Certification required.

Minimum one year of experience in foot care.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong understanding of foot care best practices, including diabetic foot care and common foot conditions.

Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to listen effectively.

Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and manage time effectively.

Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and decision-making abilities.

Proficiency in electronic documentation and scheduling systems.

Knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures for foot care tools.

Professional appearance and demeanor with a compassionate approach to client care.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings or weekends as needed.
